Chapter 8 of the traffic signs manual refers to the requirements for traffic management safety. In this chapter of the manual (or more specifically Chapter 8 part 2), the Department of Transport outlines the correct procedures and design of, Traffic Safety Measures and Signs for Road Works and Temporary Situations.

All of our chevrons adhere to these practices.

We recommend that if you are working on Motorways or Roads where speeds can exceed 40mph. Prismatic grade chevrons as they provide enhanced safety when working in high-speed areas.

For any vehicle working on roads where the speeds do not exceed 40 mph, we recommend the use of the engineering-grade chevrons. These chevrons still provide superb visibility but do not use the technologies found in the Prismatic grade making them a cheaper alternative.

Not at all! We also offer bespoke chevron kits to fit your vehicle. If you cannot find your vehicle on our site, then get in touch with us via Phone (0161 624 0318) or Email (support@chevronsonline.com) and our team will be happy to assist you in getting your bespoke chevron kit.

Removing chevrons can be a troublesome task if you do not have the right environment or equipment. But with our top tips removing your old chevrons should be easy.

  • Ensure your environment and the surface of the van is at least 20º C
  • Heat the material gently with a heat-gun while slowly pulling the chevron.
  • Use a knife or an old credit card to lift the corners of the material from the vehicle.
  • If any residue remains on the vehicle, remove this with glue remover.

Don’t worry, it happens to the best of us. If you happen to tear, crease or rip a piece of your chevron and it is unusable we will be able to send you the correct piece out for a small fee. This piece should also colour match perfectly so there is no need to worry that it will look out of place on your chevron. If you have spoiled a piece of your chevron, please get in touch with the team!
